How it works

- Reply to your receipt with these details:
- The family name you want on the cover
- The relatives to ask for recipes, with their email addresses
- Any recipes or photos you already have (photos of handwritten cards are ideal)
- Any dedication or story the book should carry
- It lands in your inbox within 5 days of the last recipe arriving, ready to review and send.
Right after you pay we set up your family's collection link and send it to you, usually within a working day. You forward it to relatives, they add recipes at their own pace, and you tell us when to close it.
Relatives are the slow part, and printing takes time after we deliver. Tell us your date when you order and we will tell you honestly whether it still fits.
Questions
- Do I need to mail you the recipe cards?
- No. Nothing physical changes hands. Relatives type recipes into the link or send phone photos of their cards, and you receive a PDF by email. This is a 100% digital service.
- Do you print and mail the book?
- No, and this matters: you get a print-ready PDF file, not a printed book. You upload it to a print-on-demand service or take it to a local printer, and you deal with them directly on price, copies, and shipping. We never handle printing or postage.
- What if my relatives never send anything in?
- We email them a reminder once on your behalf. Then we build the book from whatever arrived. If too little arrives to make a book worth having, we refund you in full.
- How long does it really take?
- Collecting is the slow part and that depends on your family. Once the last recipe is in, the designed PDF comes back within 5 days. There is a person laying out every page, so this is not instant.
- Is this AI slop?
- The recipes stay in your family's words. We transcribe them as written rather than rewriting them. We use software for layout and for cleaning up photos of cards, and a person reviews every page before it goes out.
- What if we have more than 40 recipes?
- Email support@indiecraft.net before you order and we will quote it. Forty recipes is roughly a 90 page book.
